Contest Mechanics

  1.  This contest is open to everyone, students, IT Professionals, home users, EVERYONE! PHIWUG and other Microsoft Philippines UG’s members and officers are also welcome!
  2. Entry should be a video of a HOW TO task or any useful tip on any of the following topics:
    • Windows Servers
    • Other Microsoft Servers
    • Windows Clients (Windows XP, Windows Vista)
    • Microsoft Office (2003 and 2007)
    • Infrastructure-related Services, etc. related to Microsoft technology
  3.  Entry should be ORIGINAL PRODUCTION, and not an event conducted by Microsoft. Recorded events may be submitted as part of the video library but will not be a part of this contest.
  4. Video entries should be EDUCATIONAL in nature, not a COMMERCIAL one.
  5. Microsoft technologies shall be used in the development of the said video, i.e., Windows Media Encoder to capture the screen, and Windows Movie Maker to edit and render the video.
  6.  PHIWUG reserves the right not to deny entries it deems inappropriate or has questionable technical correctness.
  7. Video length is limited to 10 minutes.
  8. Video entries become the property of the Philippine Windows Users Group (PHIWUG).
  9. Contest runs from September 1, 2007 to two (2) weeks before the Philippine Launch of Windows Server 2008 (subject to announcement by Microsoft Philippines).

Submitting Your Entry

Physical Media

  1. Entry should be in a CD that contains the following:
    • Your Video in Windows Media Video (WMV) format.
    • The Windows Movie Maker Project file (*.MSWMM).
  2.  Address the CD to PHILIPPINE WINDOWS USERS GROUP (PHIWUG) c/o Jay Paloma at the Microsoft Philippines offices, 16th Floor, 6750 Ayala Avenue, Makati City
  3.  Submitted entries automatically become the property of the Philippine Windows Users Group

Soapbox

  1. Entry should be made online by posting the entry at MSN Soapbox (http://soapbox.msn.com). Entries hosted in other video hosting sites will not be accepted as entries. Should you have difficulties in uploading we encourage you to send your video as described in Method 1.
  2.  Send an e-mail with the following info to videolibrary@phiwug.org:
    • Video Title: title of the Video
    • Video Link
    •  Description: abstract of the video (400 characters max)
      •  Example: This video shows how to implement Active Directory on Windows Server 2003 via the DCPROMO.EXE command.
    •  Name and e-mail address of the participant
